Hearts are powerful physiological and energetic forces in human lives. Their constant pulsation is a signifier of life and a creator of electromagnetic energy. coeurPulse has emerged out of research into how ‘heartbeats’ (rhythmic forces) and ‘heartsounds’ (stories of the heart) can inform the creative process. It is devised from a process that tunes creators in to the physical and symbolic properties of the heart.
This piece changes with each iteration and has been presented as part of Memorial University’s Future of Nature Conference (Corner Brook, NL – September 10, 2015), Kinetic Studio’s Open Studio Series (Halifax, NS – February 27-28, 2016), and the Saint John Contemporary Dance Festival (June 24 – 26, 2016)
